My research makes fundamental contributions to the scientific understanding of visual information processing and activity-dependent plasticity in the spinal cord as well as the application of this knowledge to the development of new adaptive neurotechnologies. Using steady-state visual evoked potentials (SSVEPs) and the Hoffmann reflex (H-reflex), I make these contributions through the analysis of visual stimulation during sleep, collaborative work on the development of thin-film epidermal electronic sensors (EES), the design of brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), and the operant conditioning of the flexor carpi radialis (FCR) muscle.
